Dr. Joby Hurst has just moved Hurst Pediatric Dentistry into an exciting new office overlooking lovely Lake Heather which is located 2 minutes off of Hwy. 280 in Inverness.

Tucked away in quiet surroundings, his office provides a welcome child-friendly environment for children of all ages. Dr. Hurst’s extensive training and decades of experience coupled with a love for children, no matter their developmental challenges, enable him to care for a wide range of dental needs.

Upon obtaining his DMD degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Hurst entered a pediatric residency program where he received advanced training in caring for children with special needs as well as normal developmental issues unique to children. He completed his residency with an additional masters degree engaging in research on how diabetes affects the mouth.

In order to achieve the highest level of competency, Dr. Hurst underwent two written examinations and an office evaluation to become Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry. This certification requires ongoing review of
current dental literature and examination to remain current.

As Dr. Hurst moves into a new phase of practice, he seeks to implement cutting edge aspects of dental care that once could only be achieved in a hospital setting. His care of an increasing number of patients with special
needs provides a unique opportunity to embrace new developments to better serve these families.

Dr. Hurst begins seeing children from their first birthday all the way through their mid twenties. He recommends a child’s first dental visit to educate the parent as much as acclimate the child to the office. His new location provides a children’s playroom with kid-friendly books and friendly staff to insure each child feels comfortable and at home. A coffee/tea bar is available for parents while children are being seen.

For the convenience of his patients, Dr. Hurst has an orthodontist into his office every month to see children who might need braces. He accepts most insurances and has suitable payment plans for those without insurance coverage.

Throughout a child’s growth and development, Hurst Pediatric Dentistry is a place where children feel welcome and parents can depend on quality dental care for their family.
